it’s wednesday, may 20, moon is moving from gemini into cancer late morning while being supported & transported by the starspace called punarvasu, it’s the fifth phase of the waxing moon & mercury’s day.
the transition from gemini into cancer is one from the intellect into the emotions, the head into the heart, which is said to be the longest journey. if you ever have trouble differentiating between feeling & thinking, between the sensations in your body of an emotion & the analysis of it, you know of what i speak.
under the sway of gemini, we explore new things physically & mentally, then under the sway of cancer we feel into which of those new things, if any, resonates in our heart, what feeeeels good, what we want to keep taking up.
if your heart could speak (&, um, it can!), what would it say?
punarvasu means “the return” (punar) “of the light” (vasu), reminding us that the sun always comes out after storms (like those of ārdrā), reminding us of the cyclical nature of life. this nakshatra is ruled by aditi, the mother of the twelve solar deities—all the cosmic light! her name means “unbounded,” as in infinite, as in her infinite capacity to create, to send light out into the world.
aditi reminds us of our own infinite capacity to create, says “100% is possible 100% of the time,” invites us to tap into the vastness of our imagination. this asterism, thanks to jupiter’s rulership, gives us the optimism to believe, but/& also cautions us against becoming too carried away too quickly, thinking too bigly, getting lost in space.
expand your mind but keep your feet on the ground.
the fifth lunar day (tithi), the fifth phase of the waxing moon, is ruled by chandra (the moon) & jupiter (like punarvasu). this tithi (à la punarvasu) supports us in bringing form out of the formless, transforming darkness into light, the invisible into the visible, in focussing on our goal, bringing it out of our subconscious into the light of day.
vishnu was hidden, lurking beneath the surface of the milk ocean, but when he emerged lakshmi set her eyes on him & didn’t remove them.
what is lurking beneath your surface? moon is fickle: can you single-mindedly pursue one goal like lakshmi?
wednesday invites us to be in the flow of mercury‘s energy, which is curious, communicative & commercial, thinky & talky, light & gentle. wednesday is always a good day to get your word out, to press send, publish, get on calls, deal with business transactions. but/& with mercury still within the orb of sun’s burning rays, it’s best to keep your message simple & not rush to share your thoughts.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
