what to know so you can align with today’s energy from a vedic (not western/tropical) astrology point of view: it’s tuesday, october 6, moon moves from cancer into leo without any starry support late morning, is in the starspace called aśleṣā until 10:45 a.m. MDT, then leaps into maghā, it’s the eleventh phase of the waning moon until about 1 p.m. MDT, then the twelfth, & it’s mars’ day.
that’s a lot of shifting energy! you could get a hit of some still-unresolved karma! plan accordingly!
the move from cancer into leo …
… is, first off, not an easy one. there’s a hard stop between cancer & leo. moon has to make an evel-knievel-esque leap from one to the other. the border between water signs (cancer in this case) & fire signs (leo) is called a gandanta, “the end” (anta) of a “knot” (gand), as in karmic knot, as in we might just get an opportunity to untie one so we can move forward.
b/c moon is our mind, our mind will not feel supported as moon leaps, so know that, mind the gap, be gentle with yourself.
the transition from unconditionally loving cancer into unconditionally protective leo is a move from heart to power, as cancer is related to our chest/heart & leo to our gut/solar plexus. cancer feels, leo acts.
as october happens to be breast cancer awareness month (& i love the meme i, um, borrowed), we might want to turn a call to empathy into a call to action, make some calls, write some letters, turn those pink ribbons into obsolescence.
aśleṣā & maghā …
… are the end of cancer & the beginning of leo, respectively, & as such the transition between them isn’t a smooth one either—but we’ve got this! aśleṣā reveals our negative tendencies & habits so we can shed them like a snake its skin, become wiser in the process.
maghā reminds us about the debt we owe our ancestors. if you think you got this far in life all by yourself, if you think you made it into this incarnation all by yourself, think again! this nakshatra gives us an opportunity to honor our ancestors & heal ancestral karma by being our best selves, standing in our greatness (maghā = “great”) with integrity & gratitude & humility.
the eleventh & the twelfth lunar days (tithis), …
… the eleventh & twelfth phases of the waning moon, are connected through the power of prayer. on the eleventh tithi we pray, whether it takes the form of fasting or meditation or both or something else. on the twelfth, if we prayed hard enough, our prayers will be answered.
remember that prayer is active, not passive, that without action prayer is like a cry in the dark.
what would it be like if your life were one constant prayer?
tuesday …
… is ruled by mars, just mars, so at least we get some consistent planetary support to see us through the day. mars wants us to be warriors for the truth, for righteous causes, not street fighters. with mars in cancer these days, his not happiest place, we may be inclined to let our emotions get the better of us & get into scuffles. let’s not do that! if you get hotted up, move that energy through & out your body–go to HIIT class (that always works for me!) or for a run, organize your garage, put your garden to bed for the winter.
🌘
the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.
may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
