it’s monday, march 10, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya until early afternoon, then ashlesha. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love, the kind a parent has for their child. it’s a selfless, i don’t need or expect anything in return kinda love. cancer is the wish for everyone to be loved, for everyone to be held in the field of love, not hate. cancer is opposite capricorn. cancer is flow, capricorn is structure, government, rules. cancer is mutable, flexible; capricorn is fixed, you might even say stubborn. cancer is peace & governments get us into war b/c of their stubbornness, their fixity, b/c of clinging to policies/positions regardless of the results they achieve, b/c politicians crave power, for themselves & for their country. the polarity between cancer & capricorn is a kind of tug of war.

pushya is the star of nourishment, ashlesha invites us to ask whether we just might be clinging to, giving too much energy to, people-emotions-situations-thoughts that are really not nourishing us at all, are in fact doing the opposite. pushya brings a lesson about feeding whatever we want to grow (a person, a project, an idea) the highest quality food, as we would a baby; ashlesha about squeezing the nutrition, the wisdom, out of our negative tendencies & then letting them go, shedding them like a snake does its skin.
it’s the twelfth lunar day (tithi), the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, which is presided over by vijaya devi, who brings us victory (“jaya” = “victory”) & success … as long as we’ve done our homework, made an effort. there is no such thing as a free lunch, as above so below! vijaya devi resonates well with mondays, the twelfth tithi + monday are nectar yielding ingredients, with nectar meaning success.
monday is, like cancer, ruled by moon, who craves peace for one & all. believe it or not, some people believe that war is the cause of peace, that we (i.e., governments) can bomb our way to peace, either literally or via threats. seriously?! whaddya think?
