… is the eleventh house of the natural zodiac & thus vibrates with the frequency of humanity—of ours, humanity as a whole, & the intersection of both. i promise this will be my last reference to dolly parton for a while, but, to me, & to a lot of people, no one exemplified the spirit of humanitarianism, of doing good deeds for their own sake, like she did.
she had three planets—rahu, saturn & mars—in her eleventh house. she couldn’t not think constantly of others, giving an unquantifiable amount of money & time to alleviating poverty, illness, illiteracy, financial distress.
philanthropy was her middle name.
the big-haired, big-hearted & big-bosomed saint even told her sister “that if there was no hope for her, she would still allow her medical team to try experimental drugs [on her] in the hope of helping others in the future.”

… is the star of healing & is ruled by varuna, protector of the cosmic oceans—i.e., consciousness, individual & collective consciousness, which is where our deepest wounds lie, isn’t it?

… the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon (please see yesterday’s post for the thirteenth), means we have a full moon on the horizon (on saturday) & may be as full to bursting somehow, some way, as the moon. this tithi is ruled by kali & has the quality of self-sacrifice, of ridding ourselves of whatever doesn’t serve us, whatever is bursting us at the seams.
kali invites us to take no prisoners, to be ruthless with the excess, to peel away the layers (well, maybe rip them off!) & toss them, offer them, into the sacrificial fire.
