it’s thursday, april 9, moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called pūrvāṣāḍha, it’s the seventh phase of the waning moon as i write but the eighth starting at 9:50 a.m. MDT, & jupiter’s day.
sagittarius is ruled by optimistic, expansive jupiter, who gives us the wisdom to look at our life as if we were crewing the artemis II & looking at earth from the perspective of the moon, to zoom way out & take in the big picture view of our life, stop sweating the small stuff. sag it where our faith lives, but/& it’s opposite gemini, which provides data/intel/facts to keep our faith from becoming blind faith.
pūrvāṣāḍha means “first/initial victory” & is ruled by apas, a mysterious water goddess who connects us to the cosmic waters, the waters of infinite possibility, & keeps us flowing toward our goal. victory comes in stages—it’s never one & done. first we have the thought, the idea, then we gradually bring it down to earth, give it life, make it real, tangible.w 5
this nakshatra invites us to ask what is percolating in our cosmic waters, what we feel compelled to do/create/manifest in this lifetime that would make us feel incomplete if left undone.
thoughts become words become actions. what might you bring down from the heavenly realm of percolating thoughts, name & give energy to & then manifest?
what might you create if you didn’t care what anyone else thought?
“people be like ‘that’s not realistic’ as if the entire universe is not a living miracle beyond our wildest imagination.” —james mccrae
there would be no space program if people worried about what was realistic, if they didn’t have faith.
the eighth lunar day (tithi), the eighth phase of the waning moon (please see yesterday’s post for the seventh), is ruled by goddess tvarita, aka “the swift one.” she’s the one who, when the forces of creation & chaos were duking it out once upon a time a long time ago, swiftly mediated, negotiated peace between them, brought balance back to the universe. phew!
as above so below, as without so within: this tithi supports us in creating harmony within, in uniting/accepting/owning/celebrating (why not?!) our darkness & our light, all the parts of us, reminds us, as van gogh said (yes, shared this yesterday), that there is no blue without yellow, that each makes the other more vibrant.
thursday is, like sag, ruled by jupiter, so it’s a double-good day to double-down on faith, on the teachers & teachings, the practices, that nurture our faith.
faith “is not blind acceptance but initially a working hypothesis of trust in the guru’s teaching, an attitude to be cultivated,” writes devadatta kali in his commentary on the devimahatmya.
cultivating faith is a practice. how’s that going?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
