what to know so you can align with today’s energy from a vedic (not western/tropical) astrology point of view: it’s thursday, august 20, moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anurādhā, it’s the eighth phase of the waxing moon till about 10 a.m. MDT, then the ninth, & jupiter’s day.

scorpio …

… is the eighth sign/house of the natural zodiac, which is associated with psychological depths & hidden knowledge. it’s where uncomfortable emotions—doubts, fears, paranoias—may arise in the aftermath of relationshipy libra. where, for example, you invite your sanskrit teacher/friend over for tea & afterward wonder if she thinks you’re a total idiot b/c you didn’t recall the connection between sage markendeya & the devi mahatmya, which you have studied numerous times … with her—oi!

moon can get easily thrown out of whack in the deep, choppy waters of scorpio, become destabilized, like a boat on the high seas.

scorpio tests our ability to ride out the waves, right ourselves, tests our emotional resilience. it takes the measure of our wellness IQ, which increases with true self-care—not the kind that comes from getting massages (which don’t hurt, fo’ sure!) but from taking care of our inner being, as my friend casey o’connell explains in her latest article.

anurādhā …

… is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, the one who always has your back, who holds you accountable, who will tell you the truth, which you may not want to hear at first but will be thankful for later. cause who really wants to live deluded?

who is that friend for you? whom are you that friend for?

the ninth lunar day (tithi), …

…  the ninth phase of the waxing moon (please see yesterday’s post for the eighth), is, like scorpio, watery. too much water can create a lot of emotional turmoil, churning, which is great for transformation (churn, baby, churn!), for allowing negative thoughts & feelings to surface so they can be dispatched & create room for wisdom, for the nectar to arise. so it’s a double-good day for self-resourcing rather than other-resourcing—you got this!

thursday …

… calls us into the energy of jupiter, the part of us that seeks wisdom &/or shares it, the student part & the teacher part.

“the best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see” (attributed to alexandra k. trenfor, a pseudonym for who-knows-whom) & the more grateful we are for the wisdom we receive, the more we’ll be blessed with.

FYI: …

… i am off tomorrow to grab a long hike an hour away that can’t be done on the weekend b/c the trailhead parking lot (which is, huge) is already full at 6 a.m.! being in nature, in my body, with a friend is a very good way to spend venus’ day. may you IN-joy yours as well. i’ll catch back up with you on monday.

the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.

may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
