it’s wednesday, october 15, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called aśleṣā. cancer vibrates with the frequency of the moon, of the divine feminine, the creative, unconditionally loving force of the universe, of the mother herself. the first human mother (that we know of) was eve, who was, you might say, the mother of us all.
cancer invites us to connect to the mothering we received & the mothering, nurturing qualities in us, regardless of gender.
marilyn monroe was a cancer! yes, she was seen as a blonde bombshell—she had venus in her tenth house of career, the most visible house in the chart—but her lifelong longing was to connect, to belong, to be loved, which was a challenge given her very afflicted moon: she grew up largely in foster homes & even an orphanage, having been abandoned by her mother & grandmother. bye-bye maternal lineage! bye-bye any sense of who she was! so she looked to the public & her partners (moon is very public & her moon was in the seventh house of partners) for the love & acceptance she never knew as a child.
moon receives all, which can have unwanted consequences, can result in people-pleasing; in marilyn’s case, being what people, including her partners, projected onto her (i.e., sexy siren), to the detriment of herself. rather than belonging, she felt lonely all her life.

aśleṣā is, like the ninth tithi yesterday, infused with serpentine energy, which gives us the ability to poison/destroy our enemies, the ones lurking in our psyche, the ones of our own creation. it also gives us powerful intuition with which we can discover secrets, bring mysteries to light.
it’s the tenth lunar day (tithi), the tenth phase of the waning moon, which is related to our dharma, our righteous path.
