it’s monday, december 8, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called puṣya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love, the kind of love a parent has for their child. cancer invites us to relate to, connect with, others in a heartful way, see others through the eyes of love, of sameness, not difference; acceptance & compassion, not judgment & criticism. connection is cancer’s key word.
when chatGPT was asked how to live to 140 years old, it said the main factor to longevity is chronic stress & one of the best antidotes is connection with others, which matters more than vitamins, can extend your life by 50 percent. it’s not about having tons of friends but meaningful ones, ones you connect with on a heart or soul level. in fact, one person who allows you to be yourself extends your life more than any diet. (fyi: that doesn’t mean it’s ok to live on junk food!)
you may not want to live to 140 (!) & chatGPT isn’t exactly an oracle (!), but, still, don’t you feel as if you get an IV infusion of good juju when you connect with people on a heart/soul level?!
puṣya dwells in the heart of cancer, in the heart of our heart space, & is the star of nourishment, of how we are nourished & how & what we nourish. puṣya is ruled by brihaspati, whose name means “the lord of expansion” & who was the guru to the gods. he expands our consciousness, nourishes us with the wisdom to cultivate our best qualities, to evolve beyond our perceived limitations & to not be afraid to open our hearts, to not be curmudgeonly, think we have to ration our heart—b/c it is truly limitless, as vast as the sky.
how expansive can you feel today? how much can you open your heart? who & what might you nourish with your limitlessness?
it’s the fifth lunar day (tithi), the fifth phase of the waning moon, which has the quality of puṣti, “strength,” & derives from the same sanskrit root, “puṣ,” as puṣya. this tithi gives us the strength to tend to, to feed our creative inspiration as we would a fire with wood. we just have to know what our goal is & keep our eyes lasered on it like lakshmi’s eyes were lasered on vishnu when she emerged from the milk ocean, knew—in her heart!—that he was the one (& only).
monday is ruled by moon, who also rules cancer, so it’s a double-good day to double-down on on heartful connections, on reaching out to that person or those people who truly felt seen by you & who truly see you.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
