it’s monday, april 10, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called jyeshtha. scorpio, which comes after relationshipy libra, vibrates with the frequency of insecurity, which is often a result of the mirroring effect of the people in our life, of the vulnerability that comes with being in relationship—are we good enough? did we reveal too much? is that person judging us? or, um, are we judging ourselves? b/c if we think someone else is judging us, that’s just our own projection of our own self-judgment. hmmm. … moon is debilitated in scorpio, which means it’s hard for us to get our emotional bearings & it’s thus easy to get pulled hither & yon by irrational thoughts, by our worst fears & paranoias. so do try to be the witness (see more below) rather than the victim of them.
jyeshtha is ruled by indra, the king of the gods, & gives us the ability to achieve the heights of our power. this asterism reminds us not to get carried away with our own power, think we are holier than thou, as indra did from time to time. this being the day after easter, we might heed jesus’ words: “the kingdom of god is within you” (luke 17:21), which means we all carry the spark of god within, each of us no more than the other. our mission is to wield our power but to do so with humility.
it’s the fifth lunar day, the fifth phase of the waning moon, which supports healing routines, which, oi, yes, especially given the scorpio moon, is most welcome. what would feel healing to you—getting a massage? making art? spending time outside in the sun? having tea with a friend?
monday is ruled by the gentle moon, who knows, as my teacher sharon gannon always says, & jesus exemplified, that the greatest passion is compassion. “compassion” derives from the latin “com” = together, with + “pati” = to bear, suffer. “the cause of suffering & pain,” says radhanath swami, “can be due to the conditioning of expecting things to always go our way.” we have little, if any, control over other people & forces in our life. what we do have control over is how we respond to them, whether we can be with, witness, our pain & the pain of others, rather than attach to it, allow it define us or others.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
