it’s wednesday, april 12, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called purvashadha. the environment of sagittarius is one of inspiration & optimism fueled by ruling planet jupiter. jupiter also rules pisces, where he has been hanging out for the past year, & while he has been strong as strong all that while, he is stronger than strong now, as he is in the last degrees of his transit in that sign & preparing for his move into aries next week. which means inspiration & optimism are on high now, & as this final portion of pisces is connected to moksha (liberation), it’s an especially auspicious time to double-down on our spiritual practices, which will surely bring inspiration from the divine, which is, um, where we know it comes from, right?
purvashadha means “former invincible one,” suggesting what is unconquerable in us, what refuses to roll over & play dead, be quiet, shut the “f” up. this asterism is ruled by apas, a water goddess who brings purification & rejuvenation, as water will. she also connects us to the ocean, perhaps the ocean of illusion (delusion?) we get to cross over. we made space, or were invited to—it’s always up to us!—yesterday. what did that space reveal to you about what you want to use it to create? what truth about yourself have you been suppressing, denying, what voice have you been quashing? what has been eating at you, irritating you like sand in an oyster, lately, or for years? what gift, what pearl have you been keeping hidden from yourself & from the world?

it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waning moon, which brings indra into the mix. you can read monday’s post for more on indra, but the gist is to remember that “we come nearest to the great when we are great in humility,” as the bengali polymath rabindranath tagore said.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who gives us discriminating intelligence so we can discern the difference between truth & fiction, fantasy & reality. if you haven’t arrived at truth yet, maybe you haven’t gathered enough facts, another strong suit of mercury. keep gathering & you’ll get there, eventually but inevitably.
