it’s monday, april 12, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called ashwini, but our new lunar cycle was initiated yesterday, with the new moon in pisces, in the starspace called revati, so i’m gong to detour a bit this morning to address the powerful seed that was planted & we are meant to nurture & grow over the next month.
the new moon is the literal coming together of the divine masculine (the sun) & the divine feminine (the moon)—of shiva & shakti, purusha & prakriti, radha & krishna. the universe would be an amorphous idea without prakriti/shakti, the creative force, to make it manifest. as above, so below: when man & woman come together in sexual union, a seed is planted (ok, not always, but the possibility is there) & new life takes root, unfurls. what new something wants to be born of you now? (hey, despite ancient traditions, we are gender neutral here—everyone gets to create, everyone embodies the divine feminine & divine masculine, has an inner sun & moon!)
revati is ruled by pushan, the shepherd who guides us home, to truth. where the pisces energy is focused in your chart, which house pisces is for you, will tell you where your moon work is this month. so it’s helpful to know. but even if you don’t know, you probably know. like, is it any coincidence that pisces is my eighth house, which has to do with uncertainty & lack of control, & the suffering that ensues as a result, & i was pondering how much more work i get to do when it comes to surrendering, which is, btw, very piscean? no! in whatever area of life you got a hit of a new or deeper truth, more insight, that’s what you get to focus on for the coming month.
meanwhile, with moon in aries being pulled by the twin horses of ashwini, we are ready to hit the ground running, or, um, galloping today—there’s no time like the present to, fueled by the fiery courage of aries, embrace our new truth & let it guide us onward.
it’s the first phase of the waxing moon, which, not surprisingly, supports creativity, new beginnings. & so do aries & ashwini. so, let’s goooooo!
