it’s wednesday, april 14, & moon is in the starspace called krittika, which eases moon’s transition from aries this morning into taurus around midday. aries is fiery & active, taurus earthy & receptive. aries wants to do, & do boldly, taurus wants to enjoy the life we fostered through our doing. notice whether your energy shifts midday, whether you go like gangbusters this morning & wanna put your feet up with a good book or have tea (in person or virtually) with a good friend this afternoon.
krittika is ruled by agni, the deity who is primordial fire & gives us the courage to burn up or through our obstacles, to offer into the sacrificial fire anything that keeps us tethered to illusion, anything that keeps us small. the mythology behind this asterism is the story of how kartikeya (shiva’s warrior son) defeated the demon taraka, who had been given the boon by brahma that only a seven-day-old son of shiva could kill him. wellllllll, at seven days of age kartikeya (pictured here with his bro, ganesh) killed taraka! that’s how much strength & courage is exuded by this asterism! how can you use that vim & vigor today? how can you step more fully into your power? what are you ready (or maybe not quite ready but courageously willing) to offer into the fire of truth?
it’s the third lunar day, the third phase of the waxing moon, which, like wednesday (see below), is very mercurial energetically. it supports communicating & being flexible, being curious enough to switch gears, go in a different direction, be creatively problem-solving.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, which is our intellectual curiosity & ability to be rational & communicate. mercury is still hanging out in pisces for two more days, where rationality/logic may be subsumed by more amorphous philosophical & spiritual interests, where we may be surfing waters in which our discriminating powers of intelligence are fairly useless. mercury in pisces can also bring communication problems b/c we can’t focus or maybe just talk too much, maybe inadvertently unload on others or just say more than we mean to. this too shall pass!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. it is my hope that the daily bliss can help you align with the day’s cosmic energy & find a little more bliss; that it inspires you to enlighten up a little more each day.
