it’s wednesday, april 21, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called ashlesha. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love, the desire to give wholeheartedly to others. which is awesome, but there’s also such a thing as overgiving, as being so generous that there’s nothing left for yourself, being so concerned about others that you lose yourself in the process, forget about your own needs, that you & they matter too. in order to keep that well of love full we get to make sure that whatever we offer to others feels loving to ourselves at the same time. i’m not saying it’s easy, especially for the caretakers & control freaks & selfless karma yogis among us, but. …
ashlesha can be translated as “coiling,” “clinging,” “embracing,” or “entwining”—think snake or serpent. snakes are often perceived as creepy & dangerous, potentially poisonous. but in hindu mythology they are seen as semi-divine creatures with access to secret wisdom, potent insights. notice who & what you are clinging to today & whether they or it are bringing you closer to truth, closer to the fullest expression of you or not. if not, how can you turn that around, transform something unhealthful into medicine for your soul?
it’s the ninth lunar day this morning, the tenth this afternoon. the ninth brings serpent energy similar to ashlesha’s, so make sure you don’t make contact with the wrong end of that serpent this morning & get bit! the tenth invites us to face our responsibilities & ask ourselves whether the ones we have taken on are in alignment with our dharma, with our righteous path, our true self.

wednesday is ruled by mercury, which makes wednesday a good day for communication of all kinds—business emails, partner tête à têtes, promotional campaigns. with mars in gemini for a while, we want to make sure to use his fiery courage to enhance, uplevel, our communication skills so we can, say, improve our relationships rather than his impulsive me-focus to impair or even destroy them.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. it is my hope that the daily bliss can help you align with the day’s cosmic energy & find a little more bliss; that it inspires you to enlighten up a little more each day.
