it’s friday, april 23, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called purvaphalguni. leo is ruled by the sun & in the environment of this constellation we are inspired to shine as brightly as that luninary. but the sun’s light & heat benefit us, not the sun. without the sun’s light & heat, there would be no life on earth. the highest expression of leo is to provide for others, to be a beacon for others, to nourish others. a good king/queen, the best sovereign, always has the welfare of others in mind, serves the people not his/her/their own selfish interests.
the lesson of purvaphalguni is that ruling a kingdom is hard work & timeouts are essential—they give us time to reflect on & enjoy the work we’ve done. bhaga, the god of good fortune, rules this asterism, reminding us to be grateful for what we’ve got & to enjoy it. it’s also good to bear in mind that all the good stuff in our life is a reflection of all the good deeds we’ve done in the past, so if we want more delightful stuff, more pleasure, we’ll want to pay it forward, keep doing good deeds.
it’s the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, which, like leo, is ruled by the sun, & invites us to tap into our inner sun, source of our vision, to get clear on where we want to go, make sure we are headed there.
