blissninny.comit’s thursday, april 23, & moon is in the starspace called bharani, which occupies a sky-slice of aries. aries likes to get stuff moving, get stuff done, move forward. this energy can be act first, think later—like a ram putting its head down & using its horns to, well, ram whatever is in its way out of its way. there can be carnage! there can be a sense of, when he lifts his head, “oh, dear, what have i done?” always a good idea to look where we’re going & make sure it’s where we want to go. when we’re learning to ski, we’re told not to look at the trees … unless we want to crash into one. look where you want to go; otherwise you may get an unwelcome surprise.

bharani is the second asterism of aries. its root verb is bhr (भृ), which means to bear. as in, we have to bear the consequences of our actions, maybe the thing we started yesterday under sway of all this awesome aries fire power, which gives us the courage to just go, to just try. how’d it go? if not so well, time to reassess, maybe course correct or start over. no biggie: nothing ventured, nothing gained. let’s celebrate the fact that we tried something rather than beating ourselves up because we didn’t get the result we wanted. how about treating what seems like a false start or setback as a learning opportunity, a chance to grow, just part of the process?

it’s the first phase (tithi) of the waxing moon—just the sliveriest sliver of the moon is visible right now (but enough to inspire howling, which is what we do in boulder at 8 pm every evening now). did you feel drained yesterday, as i did? that’s not unusual with a new moon, because the moon is our consciousness & when it’s empty, dark, we feel empty & dark as well. or can. hopefully you cut yourself some slack & enjoyed some quiet time (although we’re all doing a lot of that these days). in any event, you should start to feel a little perkier today, feel your creative spark start to kindle.

thursday is owned by jupiter, so maybe he’ll bring some inspiration to help kindle your creative spark. jupiter being the guru, his day is always a great day to connect to your teachers & the teachings they’ve bestowed on you, to honor them by living their wisdom. or to connect to your highest beliefs, the ones that uplift you & those around you. jupiter isn’t in his happy place right now, so you may be doubting your beliefs, which means it’s just time to dig deeper into them.

& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, please contact me for a session! ~.~
