it’s thursday, april 25, & moon will move from libra into scorpio any minute, while being supported & transported by the starspace called vishakha. whereas libra vibrates with the frequency of our relationships, scorpio vibrates with the frequency of the emotional fallout from them—of our paranoias & insecurities. for no sooner do we create intimacy with others, do we allow ourselves to honestly share, vulnerably reveal who we authentically are than we freak out, wonder if we overshared, said something that might have been taken the wrong way, were too real, or, gasp, ruined it all by telling someone we loved them first! scorpio is where our emotional insecurities feel as insurmountable as mount everest. but/& scorpio is ruled by courageous mars: we get to remember that walking up mountains makes our legs stronger. time to gear up & start climbing!
vishakha is the only asterism ruled by two deities—indra & agni, the king & the priest—& reminds us of the interdependency of the two, their need for cooperation. in vedic times, the king was the source of funding for the priest & in return the priest performed rituals to keep the king on his throne, help him win wars, keep his coffers full. you might say it was a codependent relationship, but a healthy one. we might examine this codependency in our own lives, ask ourselves whether our spiritual practices would benefit from more material support or whether our material existence could use a boost of higher purpose. time to earn extra or divert funds for a meditation retreat or deep dive with a teacher?
it’s the second lunar day (tithi), the second phase of the waning moon, which brings auspiciousness & victory, gives us the confidence to start something, like laying the foundation to manifest our intention for the waning moon cycle. there’s no time like the present … especially today!
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who connects us to wisdom, which is a form of grace.
“when one is illumined with the wisdom by which ignorance is destroyed, then this knowledge lights up all things, just as the sun reveals the world at dawn.” (bhagavad gita 5:16)
as radhanath swami writes in “the journey within,” “a humble heart is one that gives no resistance to the natural flow of grace.”
is your heart open enough & humble enough to receive the grace of wisdom?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
