it’s wednesday, april 26, & moon is moving from gemini into cancer midday while being supported & transported by the starspace called punarvasu. the transition from gemini into cancer is one from the mind into the heart, from air into water, from the rajasic into the sattvic; it’s a dropping into, an anchoring into, what resonates on a feeling level rather than what stimulates mentally. in the environment of gemini, we are curious to explore the new & different as a way to expand our sense of self; in cancer, we’re like, cool, that was fun but/& this stays, the rest goes, this truly vibes with us, lands in our heart.
punarvasu can be translated as “bright again” or “wealthy again” or “becoming vasu again” & is ruled by aditi, the goddess of abundance. the vasus are the demigods who embody desirable qualities like goodness, strength & prosperity, the qualities that allow us to shine as brightly as we can, which is what true wealth is, no? aditi is the unbounded, the infinite, the shakti of fertility. the mother of all that is, she grants us the ability to become new again, the inspiration to create, give birth to what we will. the key words here are “harmony” & “nurturing”—if we are aligned with, in harmony with, the vasus, the highest dharmic principles, what we nurture will grow, we will prosper.
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is related to indra, whose reputation went from a ten to a zero thanks to his big, fat ego, his hubris. it’s a good day to remember that we are not all that, to remember that we get to do what we do & be who we are thanks to the divine forces who have our backs.
wednesday is owed by mercury, who uses his discriminating intelligence to seek out the truth in a small “d” democratic way. one way he does that is through dialogue with others, through debates. not to get too political, but to get political anyhoo, that’s why we have presidential debates. but guess what? the big “d” democratic party has decided we’re not going to have any for the 2024 election cycle! wtf?! mercury isn’t afraid of the truth, but the party’s powers that be clearly are. so sad. so undemocratic.
