it’s friday, april 26, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anuradha. i hate to say it, but the dark, choppy waters of scorpio are where our worst fears & paranoias lurk like sharks & ominously breach the surface when we least expect it. (cue theme music from “jaws”!) “those are my best days, when i shake with fear,” wrote the mystic-poet john donne (holy sonnet #19). dogs (& other animals) shake when they’re afraid. they don’t attach to their fear—they feel it & let it move through them. shaking allows them to to release tension & trauma, regulating their nervous system. through trauma/release exercises (TRE), we can too! try it & let me know how it goes!
anuradha means “following” (anu) “radha” (radha!) & is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, which is what radha was to krishna. this asterism invites us to ask whether we are showing up just like radha with our people, whether we see one & all like god, see through the masks of personality, etc., to perceive the divinity within each & every person & treat them as the fractals of the One they are/we all are. that’s a big ask, i know, but, as my teacher sharon gannon says, magic is just a shift in perception, & wouldn’t it be more fun to live in a magical world?
it’s the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waning moon, which supports us in being as flexible as the most flexible, bendy yogi—not necessarily physically, unless we have to dodge literal bullets. but mental/emotional dexterity may be useful if our day doesn’t go as planned & we have to shift gears.
friday is ruled by venus, planet of love & art & other sensual delights, who is now hanging out in fiery aries a bit too close to fiery sun. so we get to beware of jumping into or out of the fire of love too precipitously, of being too impulsive one way or the other. meanwhile, friday always invites us to indulge in venusian experiences, like being in nature, going to a museum or making art ourselves, cooking a delicious dinner for our beloved or dining out with friends. basically, venus wants us to do what we love, what feeds our senses, with the ones we love, & that def includes having a date night with ourselves!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
