it’s wednesday, april 27, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called uttarabhadra. pisces vibrates with the frequency of sacred knowledge & divinity, with our desire to experience the truth of our existence, the truth of our divinity, our godliness. that’s the upside of piscean energy. the downside is that we may not have the right tools to tap into that energy, may resort to quick fixes like sex & drugs & alcohol that allow us to feel untethered from our mortal coil but don’t tether us to the great beyond, just leave us sort of floating in psychic space betwixt & between.
uttarabhadra is the counterpart to yesterday’s purvabhadra, which supported us in recognizing “aha” moments when they strike. uttarabhadra brings a lesson about acting on those aha’s. flashes of inspiration, of gnosis, are all well & fine, but if we don’t take them seriously, if we take them for granted, if we think they are going to keep falling indiscriminately like rain, we are much mistaken. if we don’t use them, we’ll lose them. think soccer: if you’ve got the ball & you don’t protect it, do something with it, you might get tackled instead of making a goal.
it’s the twelfth lunar day, the twelfth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to the sun, who gives us our vision. with the sun exalted now in aries our vision should be strong & clear, clear & strong! our way forward should be well lit!
wednesday is ruled by mercury, a free speech & free press advocate if ever there was one. mercury is not afraid of words, b/c he has the power of discrimination (“viveka” in sanskrit terminology) to sift the wheat from the chaff. mercury is us, as are all the planets. mercury is elon musk too, who claims to be a free speech advocate, & who, upon his purchase the other day of twitter, said, “i hope that even my worst critics remain on twitter, b/c that is what free speech means,” & “free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy,” which is basically what thomas jefferson said & which is def under threat these days. but will elon be his word? what does free speech mean to him? time will tell!
