it’s friday, april 29, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called ashwini. aries, where we have a solar eclipse tomorrow (see more below), vibrates with the frequency of our individuality, of exerting our will, of our obsession with self. it is the first sign of the natural zodiac & ruled by mars, who is enthusiastic & encourages us to take bold steps forward, to initiate, to be competitive. the key to aries, & to unpacking the lessons of the eclipse season, is to look where we’re going, to make sure our wins don’t come at the expense of others, that we are taking responsibility for ourself & our actions. & that starts with having the courage to look within first, to focus on self-mastery rather than self-will. just b/c we can doesn’t mean we should!
ashwini is represented by two horses & brings a lesson about channeling our prana, our life force, our energy, to yoke & direct it, just as we would a team of horses, lest they pull us in opposite directions. we need to be on it lest we be taken for a ride, end up torn limb from limb.
it’s the fourteenth lunar day, the fourteenth phase of the waning moon, which invites us to get as empty as we can, let go of all we can, so we can be truly blank canvases & create anew with the new moon tomorrow.
friday is ruled by venus, who is hanging out in pisces with jupiter right now. venus is exalted in pisces, so you might think that’s a good thing. not necessarily! venus represents our earthly desires & in exaltation that can mean more indulgence in sex & food & netflix. so we get to ask ourselves whether, say, our relationships are taking us closer to god, to the divine, to our buddha nature, or farther away, whether we are, say, using sex as a quick erotic fix or as a sacred practice.
the eclipse tomorrow is the kickoff for the coming year plus’s nodal work. the nodes, rahu & ketu, will be in aries & libra, respectively, during that time & our mission is to get real about our sovereignty, to realize that we, & only we, are the ones we have been waiting for. that no one is going to do it for us. so we get to ask where we have been giving our power away, letting others take responsibility for our lives, & how we can reclaim it. got it?
