it’s friday, april 5, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called shatabhishak. aquarius vibrates with the frequency of our humanitarianism. ruled by saturn, like the previous sign, capricorn, we are invited to get serious not about our personal goals but about our goals for the world around us, to use our precious faculties of intention & attention in service of the change we want to see—in our town, state, country or the entire universe. what might that look like for you? delivering meals-on-wheels counts! or library books to the homebound! getting on the ballot yourself or helping someone win office counts!
shatabhishak means “100 healers” or “100 poisons” (gotta love the paradoxes that sanskrit reveals for our contemplation pleasure!) & is ruled by varuna, lord of the cosmic waters, who is depicted holding a pot of soma, the elixir of immortality that the gods got intoxicated on. this asterism reminds us that the fluids we consume can be rejuvenating or simply inebriating. what’ll it be?
it’s the twelfth lunar day (tithi), the twelfth phase of the waning moon, which brings fame or glory (if we’ve done the prep work!) & is said to be the most pleasant & conflict-free tithi. so enjoy the sweetness!
friday is venus’ day, & venus is exalted now, in pisces (yes, adding his special sauce to the eclipse on monday!), so do go high with your venusian pursuits—get intoxicated with love, not drunk on debilitating substances!
bonus track: solar eclipse alert for monday—start noticing, if you haven’t already, the messages coming out of the shadows meant just for you! solar eclipses mark the beginning of a new chapter just as lunar eclipses mark the ending of one. the eclipses this year fall in the axis of pisces & virgo, which means that if you’re a pisces or virgo rising (sidereally, people!) or have planets in those signs, especially close to the eclipse degree (25 degrees pisces for this one), or if you’re a cancer or leo rising (b/c cancer’s ruler, moon, & leo’s ruler, sun, are always involved in eclipses), you’ll be more affected by eclipse energy. which means more possibility for transformation—yay, says this leo! & fyi: not a great idea to be outside watching the thing, especially if you’re in the path of the totality, which you can see vis à vis your state here.
