it’s thursday, april 7, & moon is in gemini, moving from the starspace called mrigashira into the starspace called ardra about 11 am mountain time. gemini vibrates with the frequency of intellectual curiosity, of seeking new experiences in a childlike way, with a sense of play, of openness, & sharing these new insights & experiences, either by communicating to others about them or by being in the experience with others.
gemini’s ruler, mercury, has been debilitated—confused, not operating with utmost intelligence—for the past two weeks, so if you’ve had trouble communicating, either not being able to find the right words or having your words misunderstood, if travel plans or financial transactions have gone haywire, know that this too will pass when mercury moves into aries tomorrow.
mrigashira (see yesterday’s post for more) is ruled by soma, the nectar of immortality; ardra by rudra, god of stormy destruction. while mrigashira brings a lesson about searching/seeking, ardra brings a lesson about the cleansing power of an emotional purge, which often happens b/c something is destroyed, usually against our will. sigh. the connection between these two asterisms is interesting: according to the skanda purana, brahma & rudra got into it one day & rudra decapitated brahma—not super awful b/c brahma had four other heads! anyhoo, rudra tossed that head into space & it became the stars that make up mrigashira. well, rudra must’ve felt bad, b/c he went searching (mriga, from the verb mrg, मृग्, = to seek) for that head (shira) & he ended up in what became the asterism called ardra, which is sometimes spelled arudra & means “the place that attracted rudra.” you feeling attracted to some purging or cleansing today? it is, after all, the season.
it’s still technically the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waxing moon, b/c the lunar day is set according to where the moon is at sunrise. but, hey, who couldn’t use a little more celebrating, a little more patting oneself on the back for job(s) well done?! (see yesterday’s post for more!)
thursday is ruled by jupiter, aka guru. it is said that god & guru are one b/c guru takes us to god. guru is our channel to the divine, our ultimate source of wisdom. it’s a good day to tap into our god-source energy, be a channel for true knowing.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
