it’s friday, april 8, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called ardra until early afternoon MDT, then in the starspace called punarvasu. in vedic astrology, gemini is symbolized by a couple, not twins (as in western, tropical astrology)—a man holding a club & a woman playing a musical instrument. we are always seeking wholeness, integration of the divine feminine & divine masculine within us. we want to be with others to find that sense of completeness, to get more of what we feel we might be lacking, experience the polarity, which is about the energy of action versus receptivity, not about what our culture considers masculine versus feminine skills, but it could be!

ardra (see yesterday’s post for more) brings a lesson about emotional/psychological purging & the healing that results, punarvasu a lesson about the how the love of the divine feminine, the universal mother, moves through us & around us, holds us, comforts us, nurtures us as we do others. she is, as bhagavan das has put it, “the love behind life’s energy that pulsates inside & outside us. she is the stone, the rock—the seat upon which we sit. she is the table upon which we lay our hand. divine mother is our hand; she is our fingers. she is the body of all creation. the divine mother breathes us, & we are her breath. … she can be kali ma, the creator & destroyer. she can be saraswati, the mistress of detail. & she can be lakshmi, the abundance of life.”

it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is connected to lord indra, who was the poster boy for the truism that “pride goeth before the fall.” thinking he was all that, forgetting that he was but a vehicle, as are we all, for the divine to move through him, was his achilles’ heel.

“taking all the credit for an accomplishment may satisfy the ego but will deprive the heart. recognizing the higher power behind your success & sharing credit with others will give you true joy.”—radhanath swami

friday is ruled by venus, planet of love: “if i asked you to name all the things you love, how long would it take to name yourself?”—@carrychalk

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
