it’s thursday, june 27, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called purvabhadra. while capricorn is associated with government, aquarius is associated with the world, & even as the world order is shifting, alliances are rebalancing the global power structure, what happens in america doesn’t stay in america. it’s still true, as dwight d. eisenhower said in his 1953 inaugural address, that “as america goes, so goes the world.” (& btw: he also warned, in his farewell address, in 1961, about the dangers of the military-industrial complex!) my takeaway is that if we want to change the world, we need to start at home, change our own darn country, which means paying attention to what is going on & responding by being our best, most aligned, most full of integrity selves. (apologies for the political digression, but with the so-called debate tonight, & CNN’s shenanigans around it, it’s hard not to be distracted in that direction.)
purvabhadra brings a lightning flash, an “aha!” moment about the true nature of reality, that dispels our illusions about who we are & what we are doing here, that causes the scales to fall from our eyes. of course, that depends on where we are on our path & what kind of path we are on & what we are ready to receive & perceive. as richard freeman has famously said, & i paraphrase here, it’s all about the prep work. spiritually, if we have been doing our practices, then we will be ready for whatever, whenever. materially, well, it’s hard to imagine that there will be any big reveals tonight, but, hey, someone somewhere may be ready to be jolted!
it’s the seventh lunar day (tithi), the seventh phase of the waning moon, which keeps us focused on our duties, gives us the discipline & courage to stay on track. & if, for some reason, we fall off, lose our way, get side-tracked, we just may find ourselves in situations that bring us to our knees (or close to!), that invite surrender, remind us to be humble.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who gives us the wisdom to see the bigger picture—which, in a way, is what purvabhadra does. it’s a good day to honor our teachers, if we have them, &/or connect to wisdom sources—read scripture or something uplifting or listen to our fave positive-thinking podcaster.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
