it’s wednesday, august 10, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called uttarashadha. while we slept we left behind the fiery, masculine, sattvic energy of sagittarius & woke up to the earthy, feminine, tamasic energy of capricorn. the inspiration & hopefulness of jupiter’s rulership of sag is so yesterday compared to the seriousness & practicality of saturn’s rulership of cap. & yet it’s not, b/c in the environment of capricorn we are invited, encouraged, supported in reflecting on (feminine) & getting real (earth) about what inspired (fire) us, understanding that time is finite (tamas), that we don’t have forever to accomplish what we mean to, & keeping the fire of our inspiration alive & thriving.
uttarashadha is ruled by the vishvadevas, all 330 million gods, all the superpowers available to us, & is the counterpart to yesterday’s purvashadha. invincibility (ashadha) is the essence of both asterisms; in purva (former) we tune into the gifts we have been hiding, not been sharing with the world, & in uttara (latter) we assimilate that awareness into our consciousness. this asterism brings a lesson about how if we call on, call in, the abundance of resources the universe has bestowed on us we can be nothing other than invincible, victorious.
it’s the fourteenth lunar day, the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, which means we may be feeling emotionally full to bursting b/c tomorrow is a full moon. the full moon in capricorn will launch the second half of the lunar cycle that began with the new moon in cancer. today is a good day to reflect on our moon work for the last two weeks, on how we have been anchoring into our hearts, into nourishing ourself & others, & whether we’ve, say, been sacrificing too much emotionally for others. capricorn will invite us to set, or reset, boundaries.
wednesday is owned by mercury, planet of communication. we often underestimate the power of our words to create our own reality & the reality of others. consider, for example, that it may take us mere seconds to tell someone we appreciate them or something about them but that those words may totally shift their story about themselves, may last a lifetime.
