it’s friday, august 12, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called dhanishtha. the shift overnight from capricorn into aquarius is one from feminine, tamasic, earth into masculine, tamasic, air. under the sway of capricorn, we reflect (fem) on how we are using our time (tamas) & resources (earth) in terms of what we want to achieve in our own lives. under the sway of aquarius, we take action (masc) to protect (tamas) all of humanity (air), be of service to the greater good. aquarius reminds us (or, ok, me!) of the hopi elders’ saying: “we are the ones we have been waiting for.” we are the agents of change. if we don’t each do something to improve the conditions of life on this planet, it ain’t gonna happen. the corporate interests that run this country don’t care a fig about, say, the destruction of the climate or economic inequities or body autonomy. all that matters to them is making $$$. which is just. so. dumb. just. so. short-sighted. not. to. mention. selfish.
dhanishtha brings a lesson about the true meaning of wealth (see yesterday’s post for more), which is definitely subjective—what makes me feel rich/abundant/wealthy may not be the same for you. one way we can all feel wealthy is to give to others, which allows us to realize how much we’ve actually got. that’s what tithing is about. tithing doesn’t have to be about money—we can tithe excess clothing or our time. & when we give it away we make room for more to flow to us, cause you know how it is: when you don’t need something, that’s when you get it, right? not that we give to get.
it’s the first lunar day, the first phase of the waning moon, which is associated with harmonizing the opposition between the sun in capricorn & moon in cancer that created the full moon. how are you working to find balance between surrender & control, between love & fear? how are you fortifying your boundaries, creating a strong foundation so you can be in the flow of love?
friday is ruled by venus, planet of love. love is a superpower—it protects, nourishes, heals, influences, connects, completes, expands, empowers & is even said to have anti-aging properties! how are you using your superpower?!
