it’s wednesday, august 17, & moon is in aries, moving from the starspace called ashwini into bharani later this morning. aries vibrates with the frequency of boldly going where we haven’t gone before, staking out new territory, of taking up space, owning who we are, being all we can be. aries wants us to make that phone call, set up that meeting, start that project, hire that business coach, sign up for a marathon. aries wants us to follow our impulses & just do it.

ashwini (see yesterday’s post for more) brings a lesson about following our impulses & charging full steam ahead, bharani about the consequences of doing so. all actions have results—some consequentional, some not so much. last week the mechanic-in-a-hurry who rotated my tires didn’t tighten a lug nut & if i hadn’t stopped when i did & got a tow, my tire could’ve flown off! it delayed my journey to durango by several hours & you can be sure his boss is going to hear about it! consequences all around! it’s a good day to analyze the results of our actions & adjust accordingly.

it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waning moon, which is a good day to celebrate our victories, like, um, being able to deal with the unexpected with grace & equanimity, enjoy an espresso & a book while waiting for the diagnosis on our car.

wednesday is ruled by mercury, who, as the planet of communication, loves words. like, “shibboleth,” a doctrine or belief that’s outmoded or empty of meaning. mercury also loves to speak freely. it seems that a lot of shibboleths are being shown for what they are lately, like the notion that the vaxines would be our savior or that freedom of speech is a guaranteed right in the united states. is it really, when some people are allowed to speak their minds & others are not? when people can be censored or verbally attacked, can be cancelled or, gasp, physically attacked, as salman rushdie was last week, for questioning, for inquiring, for having an unpopular or unsanctioned thought or opinion?

as voltaire said, “i may not agree with what you have to say, but i will defend to the death your right to say it.”

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
