it’s friday, august 18, & moon moves from leo into virgo, where it will be all weekend, a coupla hours before sunset & is in the starspace called purvaphalguni until about midday, then uttaraphalguni. got that schedule? the transition from leo into virgo is one from the macro to the micro, from standing on the stage to scurrying backstage & organizing the scenery, putting props in their proper places, ironing costumes, from feeling like a king/queen/queeng to feeling like the scullery maid. guess what? we are both &! so do be in your bigness all day, do be a responsible sovereign of your domain, & then enjoy a weekend of taking care of the small deets that make your bigness possible—pay bills, clean house, keep yourself healthy food-wise & exercise-wise.
purvaphalguni (see yesterday’s post for more) & uttaraphalguni are connected by more than the word “phalguni,” which means “fruits.” they are also connected by their ruling deities—bhaga & aryaman. at one time the sages declared that aryaman presided over purva, bhaga over uttara, but now it’s the other way around. bhaga is the lord of happiness, aryaman of friendly contracts, & they are both associated with marriage—we have to be delighted with someone in order to commit to them, ink our name on the doc, right? the message is that agreements made—whether business or romantic—from the POV of friendship come with a money-back guarantee for success.
it’s the third lunar day, the third phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in being flexible, recalibrating if things don’t go as planned—like maybe you got up way too early (!) & need a nap later, have to cancel something. just keep any peeps involved in the loop—they get to be flexible too!
friday is infused with the energy of venus, planet of love, among other things. “love is the goal, life is the journey,” said osho. not to quibble with the master, but/& i’m going to go out on a limb here & say that the means, the path & the goal are one—that love is how we walk the path of love & achieve love, that the more we step into the current of love every day, the deeper our experience of it becomes, until we are nothing but love love love. who or what infuses you with love?
