daily blissit’s wednesday, august 21, & moon is in the starspace called ashwini (see yesterday’s post for more) until midday, then moves into bharani, each of which provides a little more nuance to that aries energy of being lit by fire to take action, move forward, create anew.

bharani is symbolized by the yoni, the female reproductive organ, & is ruled by yama, the god of death. what do procreation & death have to do with each other besides being the beginning & the end of life, the alpha & the omega? well, whatever we bring into this world has consequences—you don’t just birth a baby & walk away!—& yama reminds us of those consequences, reminds us that one thing leads to another & that the one thing & the other can be completely different & the one may produce results that we couldn’t have anticipated: joy can lead to grief, for example. ashwini encouraged us to take action steps, bharani asks us to look at the consequences of those steps: did they really move us in the direction we wanted to go? do we have the wind at our back or are we riding right into it?

sometimes we have to take one step back in order to take several steps forward. it’s important to not look at that step back as a setback but as an opportunity, as part of the inevitable forward motion, as something that propels us onward, kind of like pulling back a bowstring to launch an arrow toward the bull’s-eye.

proverbs 24:16 says that a righteous person will fall seven times & get up seven times but that a wicked person will stumble into ruin. which means that a person becomes righteous (aligned with their dharma, with their integrity, with their authenticity) by getting up from the falls, that falling is integral to the soul’s evolution! puff on that for a while!

it’s the sixth phase of the waning moon, which makes it a good day to celebrate our victories, which, ya know, we really should do every day, whether they’re big (i got the raise i asked for!) or small (i made time to meditate this morning).

it’s wednesday, owned by mercury, who supports us in our efforts to communicate, to use our words & other communication tools wisely, & who wants us to do so joyfully.
