it’s friday, august 25, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called jyeshtha. scorpio is the environment of the hidden nooks & crannies of our psyche, the places we fear to tread, in short, our shadow, which we all have but are ashamed of, ashamed for others to know about. scorpio’s ruling planet, mars, gazing powerfully at his home sign from virgo, can give us the courage to upgrade our relationship to our shadow, engage rather than avoid, do some emotional healing. that said, retrograde saturn is also gazing sternly at scorpio, so we could feel some contraction, withering, self-consciousness (&, yes, saturn is shame central!) around our secret parts. we get to remember that “the more contraction we experience now is equal to the expansion that’s coming” & to hold steady!

jyeshtha is ruled by indra, who had to go it alone, single-handedly slay the dragon vitra. this asterism gives us the courage to fight our karmic battles so we can rise to the heights we are meant to.

it’s the ninth lunar day, the ninth phase of the waxing moon, which is related to snaky, serpenty (& yes, dragons are ginormous serpents!) energy. snakes/serpents, like scorpions, are active at night, they thrive on darkness. in hindu mythology, snakes are harbingers of wisdom, wisdom that is often harvested from the poisons of our mind. this tithi (lunar phase) supports us in doing some harvesting by examining what is poisoning our mind, what we are clinging to—people, situation, habit—that is not serving us.

yesssss, the forces of darkness are gathered so we can do some major self-upliftment today! & let’s not forget that it’s also friday, & …

… friday is ruled by venus, planet of love & other earthly delights. we all know that venus is in retrograde motion, so we’ve been rethinking our relationship to, well, our relationships, which may involve ex partners or memories of them slithering out of dark recesses into daylight, right? what do they have to teach you, what do they have to reveal about why they weren’t “the one”? (& “the one” doesn’t necessarily mean “the one & only for all time.) how do you know “the one” is “the one”? according to transformational coach preston smiles, who shared this on a recent layla martin podcast, you know when you love their crazy, when you want to sniff them like a dog—a dog doesn’t know why, just knows.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
