it’s wednesday, august 26, & moon is in the starspace called jyeshtha, which occupies the last sky-slice of scorpio. scorpio is where our deepest, darkest fears lie hidden, at least hidden from the world, not necessarily from ourselves. scorpio is where our runaway emotions allow us to make up stories untethered from reality. given that today is the ninth lunar day (see below), we could go to some dark places, but the gift of scorpio is to be able to go to those dark places & emerge into the light as light-bearers.
jyeshtha is ruled by lord indra, who (hmmm, there is a theme running through today!) represents our ability to vanquish darkness, bring the light, to take responsibility, as a good king (he was the king of the gods) does, for protecting & improving the world. in one version of the battle between indra & the demon vrtra, who stole all the water from the earth, indra is swallowed by vrtra & slashes through his belly to return all the water to earth. how can you vanquish even a sliver of darkness today & bring more light to the world?
it’s the ninth lunar day, which is associated with serpent energy. serpents are both repositories of toxic thoughts & emotions & of deeeeeep wisdom. sometimes we have to bore into our toxicity to extract the elixir of wisdom. our challenge is to excavate with objectivity, with curiosity, with the intention to learn & grow.
wednesday is mercury’s day. mercury, who is that part of us that wants to communicate, is still hanging out pretty close to the sun in leo, so we may still be feeling a little thwarted word-wise. if you don’t feel heard, if you feel like you’re not getting through to others, that what you say is being misinterpreted, ask yourself if you are being too obtuse, if you are really saying what you mean. mercury, who likes to keep things light, can make us beat around the bush rather than being direct. don’t get mad, just get focussed & use your words with precision.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
