it’s thursday, august 26, & right now, as i write, before dawn, moon is in pisces in the starspace called revati, but by late morning mountain time it will be in aries, in the starspace called ashwini. pisces is a water sign, aries fire, & between water & fire signs there is what’s called a gandanta, which is actually the lack of something, a starry bridge, to ease moon’s (or any planet’s) passage from the energy of one to the energy of the other. revati ends where pisces does, ashwini begins where aries does. why should you care? well, moon is our consciousness & it likes support, likes to feel held, & when it’s not, when it has to, say, make a leap without the net of an asterism, our mind can feel a little anxious, destabilized. it’s only momentary, or a little longer, but, still, good to know what’s happening.
aries (please see yesterday’s post for pisces/revati) vibrates with the frequency of new beginnings, gives us the inspiration & courage to start anew or start something new. use this energy to boldly go where you’ve been wanting to or needing to but have feared to go before. seize the day!
ashwini means “horse tamer” & reminds us that horsepower, our horsepower, is a magnificent force that needs to be reined in, directed. &, yes, there are compassionate ways to do that, with ourselves anyway—we can talk about whether it’s cruel or not to do that with our equine friends another time.
it’s the fifth lunar day, the fifth phase of the waning moon, which supports healing & nurturing—be the healer or be healed, whether by yourself or another.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is guru. guru can be a person, but it is also a principle, the idea that everyone & everything in our lives offers us an opportunity to enlighten up, to dispel (ru) a little more darkness (gu), wipe away a little more smutch from the window we are looking at life through. we get to realize that we are, after all, our own spiritual window cleaners & get to take responsibility for cleaning our own damn windows so that we can see clearly.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
