it’s wednesday, august 28th, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya until late morning, when it moves into aslesha. cancer is emotional & maternal; it is where unconditional love expresses itself & finds fulfillment. it is where we feel, sometimes so deeply that we let our emotions carry us away. it’s important to surf these waters with awareness & agility, to make sure we don’t paddle out too far & get in over our head.
bathe in pushya’s selflessly loving energy this morning (see yesterday’s post for more on that asterism), imagining that you are being nourished by the divine mother herself—b/c you are!
aslesha is known as the entwiner & is ruled by the deities that entwine, the nagas, which are snakes or serpents with occult powers, specifically the power of enlightenment-yielding wisdom. but we have to be ready to receive that wisdom & know how to use it, otherwise it can be toxic. for example, kundalini is represented as a snake coiled three times at the base of the spine, which, when aroused, can produce exalted states of consciousness. but if that snake wakes up too soon, before you’ve done your practices & prepared, it can wreak psychic havoc—we’ve all heard the tales.
just like serpent energy, our emotions can be beneficial or destructive. if you’re feeling triggered emotionally, see if you can uncoil yourself from those feelings, step away, find a way to use them for your own transformation, to step up the game of being your best self—be the snake charmer not the snake.
it’s the thirteenth phase of the waning moon until late morning, then the fourteenth, so get your delight on during the first part of the day, whatever that means for you, especially if it involves love or loved ones, b/c you may start to feel depleted later in the day along with the moon, whose waning cycle ends tomorrow.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, the master of communication, so wednesday is always a good day to use your words. make sure you use them well, that you mean what you say & say what you mean & do no harm by saying whatever you say.
