it’s wednesday, august 2, & moon moves from capricorn into aquarius around noon while being supported & transported by the starspace called dhanishtha. both signs are ruled by saturn, who wants us to get serious & be responsible about our lives, but capricorn vibrates with the frequency of our immediate, personal lives, aquarius with the frequency of our shared existence, our lives as part of a global entity. like aspen trees, we are each of us a small part of a singular, larger organism whose main life force lies underground in a massive root system. we are, in fact, rooted together! each of us does play an invisible (underground!) role in maintaining the organism! how can you support your individual life goals this morning so that you can expand your reach—to your city or country or the world— this afternoon? how does knowing that while your global efforts may be invisible, they do make a difference inspire you?

dhanishtha means “wealthiest” & is ruled by the eight vasus, the gods of abundance, & has the power to bring fame (it’s alternative name is shravishtha, which means “most heard of”) & fortune. oh, lucky day! we create wealth based on our values & our values define what wealth means to us. yeah, it’s nice to have nice stuff, a comfy material existence, but is that what really gives us a sense of abundance, makes us truly feel wealthy?

it’s the first lunar day, the first phase of the waning moon, so you may still be feeling into the ask for silence of the shravana full moon. one way to keep feeling into that stillness is to not become negatively overstimulated—by whom you hang out with, what kind of movies you watch, for example, by doing one less thing rather than one more thing.

wednesday is ruled by mercury, who gives us the ability to unearth facts & the desire to communicate what we unearth to others. unearthing facts, digging for the truth, is supposedly the bailiwick of journalists. the press is considered to be the fourth estate & to be independent of the government. but is it lately?! the press was historically charged with speaking truth to power, revealing lies & corruption. but look what happened to julian assange, a journalist in the mold of bob woodward, when he did. “if wars can be started with lies,” he has said, “they can be stopped with truth.”

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
