it’s monday, august 31, & moon is in the starspace called dhanishtha, which straddles capricorn & aquarius, connecting the two signs ruled by saturn. saturn is the task-master: he focuses our energy by reminding us that the clock is ticking, by helping us get quiet so we’re not so easily distracted. in capricorn we’re more focused on our interior or immediate world, in aquarius on our community or country or world. notice whether you are, say, more focused on organizing your desk this morning & then on organizing your vote forward list later this afternoon as moon moves from cap to aquarius.
dhanishtha’s symbol is a drum. whether a tabor, a tabla, a mridanga or a damaru, it really doesn’t matter—the point is that drums are hollow & they make music. but, ahhhh, who is the maker? sri siddhi ma, who carried the light of neem karoli baba, maharaj-ji, after he left his body, once told krishna das that it’s all grace but we have to act as if it isn’t. so be the vehicle, allow the divine power of creation to flow through you today, but help it a little by pretending you’re the one creating.
today is the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, which means tomorrow is a full moon, which means we’re feeling the fullness, the intensity, of the first half of the lunar month & are ready to complete the cycle in the next half. the first half started with the new moon in leo, inspiring us to feel into our personal power, our sense of identity; the second half will start with the full moon in aquarius, where we are inspired to use our personal power to improve the world around us. are you feeling the itch to move on, to share your power, to use it for the good of all?
monday is the moon’s day, so a good day to focus our week from a place of heart-centeredness, by feeling into what’s right, by trusting our intuition to guide us. monday is a good day to practice valuing/trusting instinct over logic, emotion over intellect.
