it’s wednesday, august 4, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called mrigashira. gemini vibrates with curiosity, especially the curiosity to unpack & understand—whether new ideas or interests or why someone thinks the way they do—& is ruled by mercury, who brings discriminating intelligence to the process. the environment of gemini facilitates seeing both sides of an issue/argument, being able to look at all the data without being attached to a position, not needing to make the other person or side wrong. if we act as if anything contrary to what we believe is evil, we can’t listen, can’t hear, can’t have a dialogue; there is no hope for communication, which is what gemini loves to do more than anything—share ideas, share information. in our ridiculously polarized world, more of gemini’s open-mindedness & curiosity would go a long way right now. may it be so!
mrigashira means “deer-faced” & like deers in a forest (or, um walking through the streets of boulder, where i live!) constantly in search of yet another morsel, we may feel restless, feel a longing for something we don’t have & want, maybe something we can’t even name. we may look outward, like a deer, to feed our craving, but what we really crave lies within, for mrigashira is the asterism of the seeker.

it’s the twelfth lunar day, the twelfth phase of the waning moon, which supports us in honing our vision, getting clear about where we are going. it’s a good day to get out our compass & map & make sure we haven’t been walking in circles.
wednesday, like gemini, is ruled by mercury, so we get to double-down on how we communicate. what’s your favorite modality & how does it serve your ability to create connection? b/c ultimately that’s the whole point, communication is a team sport. for example, text ping-pong can be super fun & super efficient, but if you never actually spend time, live, in person, with your “opponent,” your teammate, what’s the point? if the goal of communication is connection, we need to walk our talk, put our words into action, b/c actions do, after all, speak louder than words.
