it’s thursday, august 6, & moon is in the starspace called purvabhadra, which occupies a sky-slice that straddles aquarius & pisces but is mostly in aquarius. in the environment of aquarius we feel a sense of responsibility for the world around us & want to do our part to improve it; in the environment of pisces we begin to realize that the material world is so yesterday, that there is way more to life than what appears to be. which doesn’t mean that we check out, don’t bother (altho we could if we’re vibrating at a low frequency), just that we see an even bigger picture, expand our perspective. moon will be in aquarius until about dinnertime, then moves into pisces.
purvabhadra is ruled by the deity aja ekapada, who is one of the rudras, the attendants of shiva. shiva’s goal is to liberate us & the rudras help him in this aim—in this case through a bolt of lightning sent from the heavens to the earth to wake us the you-know-what up. that lightning strike—think lightbulb going off in our head—illuminates what had been invisible, gives us a glimpse of our true nature. the question is, can we handle it? & what will we do as a result, how will we be?
it’s the fourth phase of the waning moon, which is associated with lord ganesha, the remover of obstacles. of course the secret to ganesha is that he puts the obstacles there in the first place so that we have to overcome them. no pain no gain, you might say, & he wants us to gain, wants us to evolve, & the only way that happens is through being tested. if you feel stymied today & don’t know how to proceed call in your guidance, ask the divine, ponder the wisdom that has been passed on by your teachers, b/c, hey, this is jupiter’s day & jupiter is the guru.
thursday is owned by jupiter, which means that today’s words are: “highest purpose.”
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
