it’s monday, august 8, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called mula. we get to counter a weekend of the feminine, tamasic, watery energy of scorpio with the masculine, sattvic, fiery energy of sagittarius. after reflecting (feminine) on our emotional (water) fears (tamas), surfing the dark, choppy, psychic ocean of scorpio, perhaps getting sucked under by a gnarly wave or two, we act (masculine) by climbing onto the raft of hope constructed from the inspiration (fire) of pure (sattvic) teachings/beliefs, or maybe we get pulled all the way to shore by a light worker on jet skis!

mula is ruled by niritti, who is described in the rig veda as the personification of destruction, calamity, corruption, & death as well as the abode of dissolution or decay. this asterism brings a lesson about ridding ourselves of, destroying, whatever in our life (people, thoughts, activities, etc.) is adharmic, isn’t in alignment with our highest purpose, expression of self—i.e., isn’t pure, sattvic.

it’s the eleventh lunar day, the eleventh phase of the waxing moon, which supports spiritual practices like fasting. fasting is a way to focus on what really matters by taking away the distractions of making & eating food & allowing us to feel our lightness of being. of course, if all we do while we’re fasting is think about food, about not eating, about what we’re going to eat when the fast is over, that won’t be very productive. so we get to do other spiritual practices—like meditation or asana or seva, or all of the above—to distract us from fasting. fast or not, it’s a great good day for spiritual practices, to get back on the bandwagon of our practices if we’ve fallen off.

monday is owned by the moon, who is the part of us that wants to feel as peaceful & serene as a lake undisturbed by waves. which is achieved when we can be with what is, be ok with what is, rather than wishing it were other. as dr. joe dispenza says:

“before we can begin to build a new future, we must first be at peace with the present. & that means letting go of the past—& all the unconscious thoughts, behaviors, & feelings that come with it.”

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
