it’s wednesday, october 8, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called aśvinī until 11 a.m.-ish MDT, then bharaṇī. aries is the first sign of the natural zodiac, which is where life begins or where we begin again, take another stab at stepping into our authenticity, going where we’ve never gone before, perhaps where no one has gone before, & to go it alone if necessary. aries is fiercely independent, unswayed by the opinions of others, is not averse to going against the grain, being unconventional, breaking barriers.

martin luther king jr. was an aries, his message a challenge to the powers that be, to the status quo, but he didn’t shy away from courageously sharing it, thanks to his powerful mars, ruler of aries, in his second house of speech. he was a stand for himself.

“the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort & convenience, but where he stands in moments of challenge & controversy.”—MLK jr.

are you willing to be a stand for yourself even if it’s uncomfortable?

aśvinī brings a message about charging ahead like a stallion, bharaṇī about reassessing if we’ve gone too far, too fast, recalibrating & making amends if necessary. if we consciously focus our prana, our precious life force, as we race toward our goal, we probs won’t have any unpleasant consequences to deal with. just saying!

it’s the second lunar day (tithi), the second phase of the waning moon, which supports us with the pride to spread our message far & wide, let what we mean to manifest be seen. it also, unfortunately, doesn’t resonate well with wednesday & with either nakshatra (asterism) in the mix today, so bear in mind that you may experience a hiccup, that something may have to go.

wednesday is ruled by curious & communicative mercury. to further thread the MLK needle—b/c, why not?—he had mercury in his tenth house of career & duty: sharing his thoughts freely in the public arena was his dharma. the powers that be didn’t like it. they wiretapped & blackmailed him in an effort to censor him, trample on his first amendment right to free speech, cancel him, shut him down. which they eventually did by assassinating him.

“there comes a time when people get tired of being trampled over by the iron fist of oppression.”—MLK jr.

thomas jefferson held that free speech & a free press were foundational to democracy.

may we think & express our ideas freely!

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
