it’s tuesday, march 31, moon moves from leo into virgo at 10 a.m. MDT while being supported & transported by the starspace called uttaraphālgunī, it’s the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon & mars’ day.

the transition from leo into virgo can be a humbling one (especially if you’re not a humble king/leader), as it means stepping down from your throne & bending a knee, getting your hands dirty. for virgo is where we get to clean up any messes we’ve made (but fat chance of that happening globally when certain people insist on making bigger & bigger messes) & prevent future messes by, well, taking preventive measures: making dr’s appts, having a confab with a financial advisor, getting that new roof put on (i wish my landlord read the daily bliss!), re-upping exercise routines & meditation practices. you get the idea!

uttaraphālgunī is the counterpart to yesterday’s purvaphālgunī, suggesting the completion of what was started, getting the full benefits, going full fruit you might say (phālgunī = “fruit”). while purva is ruled by bhaga, the god of delight, utttara is ruled by aryaman, the god of contracts, who blesses those agreements made with the best interests of both (all) parties in mind, especially, but not necessarily, a marriage contract. in purva we test the waters, in uttara we commit. if we fall in love in purva & decide we’re a good fit for the long term, we start planning the wedding in uttara.

if your contracts/agreements/commitments aren’t bearing juicy fruit, maybe you need to renegotiate them? & do reflect before you sign on the dotted line, ask yourself whether it’s really a mutually beneficial arrangement.

the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, is the penultimate one before, in this case, the full moon. (there are fifteen waxing phases, climaxing with the full moon, & fifteen waning, climaxing with the new moon.) this tithi is ruled by goddess jwalamalini, whose name means “garlanded with flames”—yikes! yes, flames = sacrifice, purification, which means intensity, b/c it’s generally not easy to purge, release the excess in our lives, toss into the sacrificial fire what no longer serves our highest purpose. but, hey, virgo loves purging, loves to clean up acts—what are you ready to toss, burn into ashes?

tuesday is ruled by mars, who is associated with lord hanuman, whose bday just happens to be tomorrow. hanuman is a symbol of devotion, loyalty, courage & power, just like mars, who is the part of us that fights the good fight. we don’t all have to or have the opportunity to rescue a sita from a ten-headed demon, but we all surely have opportunities to fight for/help an underdog, someone less fortunate, courageously serve a righteous cause. tuesday is always a good day to get our inner hanuman on.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
