it’s wednesday, february 18, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called śatabhiṣak until 8:45 a.m. MST then pūrvabhādra, it’s the second phase of the waxing moon & mercury’s day.
aquarius is the eleventh house of the natural zodiac, which begins with aries & ends with pisces—as opposed to the zodiacal order that begins where you began, with the sign that was rising (your ascendant) on the eastern horizon when you were born. the eleventh house is associated with, among other things, our largest network & our legacy, with the impact we make on others.

śatabhiṣak means “100” (śata) “healers/doctors” (bhiṣak), so it’s not surprising that its superpower is healing. “100” suggests that healing, that medicine, can come in myriad forms, from myriad sources. for what ails some people, acupuncture might be the cure, for others a vitamin infusion, for others an Rx from the pharmacy. what’s your daily medicine: working out at the gym? meditation? eating lots of greens?
pūrvabhādra means “former” (pūrva) “blessed one” (bhādra) & its superpower is to raise us up spiritually, to bless us with the experience of blessedness, which sometimes happens only, or for the first time—like a flash of “aha!”—in the presence of another blessed being, as it did for those who came into contact with, received darshan from, anandamayi ma.

for anandamayi ma god was truth, truth god: “the search after truth is the one thing by which the shape of human life should be determined. genuine desire itself opens the road to fulfillment.”

the second lunar day (tithi), the second phase of the waning moon, supports us in grounding whatever creative spark has been sparked in us (hopefully i’m not the only one who got sparked!) so it can spread & grow—like a controlled burn, not like on out-of-control wildfire.
friday is ruled by mercury, who likes to get the facts straight & finds it ironic that joseph pulitzer, he of the biggest prize in journalism, was responsible for the advent of “fake news”—back in the nineteenth century. no, fake news is not new news.
