it’s thursday, may 28, moon is in libra, in the starspace called svātī, it’s the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon & jupiter’s day.
libra is associated with how we relate to others, with being sociable, exchanging energy, giving & taking. opposite aries, which is all about “me,” libra is all about “we.” it is our nature as human beings to be in relationship with others, we crave connection. the key is not to lose “me” in the “we,” to make sure our relationships are symbiotic, good for “me” & good for “thee,” that everyone’s needs are getting met, that we aren’t abandoning ourselves so we feel accepted, loved, invited to parties.
the antidote to self-abandonment is a boundary, but boundaries without consequences are just suggestions, as my friend anastasia frank says. they’re like political/diplomatic red lines that if crossed trigger responses.
let’s play mad libs: if [person’s name] [shows up late, cancels, forgets your birthday, etc.], then you’re going to [fill in the blank].
if you do erect a boundary, don’t forget to stick the landing! but/& be diplomatic about it.
svātī is ruled by vayu, the god of wind, which moves quickly & blows in all directions, is, you might say, unboundaried. this nakshatra brings a lesson about our inner winds, our prana, & the importance of containing it, not letting it dissipate, of focusing it where we mean it to go.
vayu was hanuman’s dad. hanuman was famously able to focus his precious faculties of attention & intention, his prana, so that he could perform a feat even he didn’t know he was capable of—leaping across the ocean to save sita from the demon ravana. hanuman did this out of selfless service to, out of love & devotion to rama.
what goal are you devoted to? what might you achieve if you focussed all your precious prana on it?
the thirteenth lunar day (tithi), the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon, is ruled by kamadeva, the hindu cupid, so love is in the air! & also a more mature relationship with, well, relationships, as in being more forgiving & compassionate with beloveds. & if our relationships are out of balance (which see above!), they just might get stirred up (which libra is prone to do as well) so we can right the balance.
thursday invites us into the energy of jupiter, who gives us the wisdom to see the bigger picture, view our life with some perspective. osho taught that wisdom emerges organically by living life with awareness, which means being fully present in each moment, that knowledge is merely intellectual accumulation.
what’s your wisdom IQ? how’s your view?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
