it’s friday, december 26, & moon moves from aquarius into pisces this afternoon while being supported & transported by the starspace called pūrvabhādra. under the sway of aquarius, we get a sense of our connection to & place in the great sea of humanity, of our oneness among manyness; under the sway of pisces we get a sense of our connection to & place in the cosmic ocean, as in: all. that. is. as in dissolution into pure oneness. pisces is  where “i” & “other” do not compute.

it is ultimately what we all long for, whether we know it or not, to merge back into the mystery out of which we emerged, the primordial soup that is the mother, the womb, of us all.

“when into the womb of time everything is again withdrawn chaos will be restored & chaos is the score upon which reality is written.”—henry miller, tropic of cancer

the challenge of pisces—& it’s going to be a piscean weekend, y’all—is to experience the merging, which is a gift of grace, consciously. pisces’ mantra is, check deeper in; don’t check out.

pūrvabhādra can be that lightning flash of the merge, the glimmer, an amuse-bouche of the greater experience to come. it can also be any flash of inspiration, of “aha!” it just depends on where we are on our journey, how our consciousness is operating, what divine message we are ready to receive.

like other pūrva nakshatras (pūrvaphālgunī, pūrvāsāḍha), an uttara follows—in this case uttarabhādra. pūrva = “former, earlier, first”; uttara = “latter, later, second.” these nakshatra pairs indicate a two-step process. with the bhadras, first we have an “aha!” moment, then we do something with it. or not. not every idea is worth running with, but if it is, put on your running shoes.

it’s the seventh lunar day (tithi), the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in wresting control over our mind (ha!). it is also the birth tithi of the sun god, who brought us the first divine messages & inspires us to see messages (which see above!) from the divine in everyone & everything.

friday is ruled by venus, planet of our earthly delights, of delighting in our embodied existence & the five senses it is endowed with. how might you delight in your ability to touch, taste, smell, see, hear?

breaking news: the seventh tithi + pūrvabhādra + venus’ day = amrita yoga, a combo that yields nectar, the ambrosia of the gods, the juiciest juiciness! IN-joy!

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
