it’s monday, november 10, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called puṣya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of the divine feminine, of unconditional, all-giving love, & is ruled by the moon, who receives the sun’s light, takes in all experiences, feels all feelings. cancer is the fourth house of the natural zodiac, which governs our physical home as well as our ability to feel at home, at peace with ourselves, heart happy. our first experiences are in the womb, where we receive nourishment—physical, emotional, psychological, etc.—from our mother, receive her genetic download, all she, & our entire maternal lineage, has experienced.
how we receive all that based on our karmic tendencies determines how comfy-cozy we can be with ourselves, how happy our hearts will be.
b/c we are umbilicaled to our mothers for nine months, it can be hard for us to distinguish what’s ours & what’s hers. what might you still be carrying that’s not yours? what traumas from your maternal lineage might you get to acknowledge/heal/release?
puṣya is the star of nourishment & is often represented by a cow’s teats, upon which newborn calves suckle. it is ruled by brihaspati, whose name means “the lord of expansion.” smack-dab in the middle of compassionate cancer, this asterism invites us to expand our compassion, & to ask ourselves what we are nourishing & how.
the government of denmark has been wrongheadedly (banning private jets would have a more positive impact on the climate!) insisting farmers add bovaer to cattle feed to reduce methane, which turns out to be poisoning them, which means it’s poisoning anyone who eats beef or drinks milk. which is the opposite of nourishment.
what are you nourishing & how—with the highest intentions or not?
it’s the sixth lunar day (tithi), the sixth phase of the waning moon, until almost noon mountain time, then the seventh. the sixth has a quality of passion, the seventh of courage. the sixth supports us in giving form to, making manifest, bringing into the world, as a mother does a baby, something real & tangible, alive & kicking. the seventh keeps us on track, reminds us of our duties, & if we need reminding, if we’ve gone off-trail, you can be sure someone or something will remind us.
monday is ruled by moon, whose heart, whose compassion knows no bounds. culling perfectly healthy animals, as the canadian government just did by ruthlessly shooting (!!!) 400 ostriches, based on politics, to set an example of the government’s ability to overreach, to control (farmers), couldn’t be more anathema to compassion.
my heart aches!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
