it’s friday, february 20, moon is in pisces, in the starspace called revatī, it’s the fourth phase of the waxing moon & venus’ day.
pisces is the last sign of the natural zodiac, which begins with aries. it’s the liminal state between what has been & what will be, between death & rebirth. it’s dissolution before creation. pisces represents the magic dark out of which nothing becomes something, the impossible becomes possible; it’s the environment in which, the state of consciousness in which our imagination lives & thrives.
to further yesterday’s alice in wonderland theme: “the only way to achieve the impossible is to believe that it is possible,” said the white queen to alice. “why, sometimes i’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
what is your greatest dream? what might you achieve if you allowed yourself to believe it was possible? do you dare?
revatī is the last nakshatra of the last sign of the natural zodiac. it brings us home, invites us to complete a cycle. it is ruled by pushan, the cosmic shepherd who keeps the herd together, protects it from danger, guides it to new pastures. this asterism brings a lesson about our soul journey, about our path, its ultimate endpoint being moksha, liberation. which doesn’t necessarily mean physical death, b/c as one of my teachers has pointed out, everyone wants to be free, but nobody wants to die!
can you see where you’re going?
the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waxing moon, is, speaking of death, ruled by yama (think dissolution, think endings) but/& also by ganesh (think obstacles, think removing them). & speaking of moksha, this tithi’s energy is best used toward that end, toward inner purification & spiritual development rather than material goals. & it does have the quality of tushti, “contentment,” so the prospects for today are not drear & sere.
friday is ruled by venus, who wants us to do what we love with (or without—whatever floats your boat) the ones we love (or like a lot), wants us to IN-joy our embodied existence, make use of these bodies & their extraordinary capacity to experience the world through our five glorious senses.
bonus track: revatī + the fourth tithi + venus’ day are ingredients for the cocktail that is amrita, nectar. i don’t know about you, but i could use some! shake it, stir it, sip it, knock it back like a shot, IN-joy it anyway you like!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
