it’s monday, december 11, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anuradha. scorpio vibrates with the frequency of our emotional insecurity, which gives rise to our worst fears. what is fear? false evidence appearing real! what does fear create? suffering! as the stevie wonder song goes, “when you believe in things/that you don’t understand/then you suffer.” what do you really know to be real & true? what is happening right this second? that’s all we can really know to be real & true. “fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future,” said thich nhat hanh. “if we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay.” mars, who rules scorpio, gives us the courage to face our fear, which once faced has no hold over us.
anuradha is ruled by mitra, the fearless friend, the one who is always there, has an open ear & open arms, who is utterly devoted & full of compassion. this asterism gives us the power to honor the people in our lives & to be honorable ourselves, to be in right, in divine, relationship with one & all, to see the divine in one & all. do you treat your people like god, the way radha treated krishna? do you see some people as divine & others not so much? discuss with yourself!
it’s the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the fourteenth phase of the waning moon, which brings fierce, kali-like energy, the “take no prisoners” ability to self-purify, release one more attachment to what doesn’t serve our highest expression of self in preparation for the new moon tomorrow. think sati’s courageous self-immolation when her husband, shiva, was dissed by her father, daksha prajapati. i’m not saying we need to go to such extremes, but let’s do remember that sati was reborn, as parvati. what are you willing to sacrifice, burn up, in order to be born anew, recreate yourself in the waxing cycle? nb: this may cause frustration or irritation, even anger. can you use those feelings rather than be abused by, or abuse others with, them?
monday is ruled by the moon, so it could be an especially good day, given all the intensity, to find ways to nourish yourself, do some self-care.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
