it’s tuesday, december 13, & moon is making the leap from cancer this morning into leo this afternoon without a net, without a starry bridge for support & transport—moon will be in the starspace called ashlesha this morning, ending where cancer ends, then magha, which begins where leo begins, this afternoon. cancer vibrates with the frequency of the moon, the divine feminine, of receptivity & process. leo vibrates with the frequency of the sun, the divine masculine, of action & goals. moon (cancer) reflects light, sun (leo) is the light, gives us the confidence to shine, to authentically express our power & fulfill our dharma. notice the shift of your mental state in the early afternoon & do, um, mind the gap when moon is unsupported.
ashlesha means “embracing” or “clasping” & is ruled by the divine serpent beings with the power to investigate the internal poisons we are clinging to & turn them into wisdom. magha means “gift” or “wealth” & is ruled by the pitris, our ancestors, all of those who came before us & contributed (whether genes or knowledge or support) to who we get to be today. what are you clinging to? how can you show your gratitude for the gifts your ancestors have bestowed on you?
it’s the fifth phase of the waning moon until about 9 a.m. mountain time (see yesterday’s post for more), then the sixth. while the fifth tithi (lunar phase) supports inception & nourishment, the sixth supports actually birthing, bringing our dream to life, giving us the confidence to make it real. the quality of this tithi is glory or fame & is connected to kartikeya, shiva’s precociously talented warrior son who was famous for his martial (yesssss, he is connected to mars, today’s planetary lord!) victories. one way to ensure our success in bringing our dreams to life is to celebrate all of our previous successes, reminding ourselves that we’ve been victorious before & so, eventually but inevitably, we will be so again.
tuesday is ruled by mars, who gives us courage. courage, like everything, is a practice—the more courageous we are, the more capacity for courage we have. tuesday is a good day to work our bravery muscle, dare ourselves to make a leap of faith, have confidence in our ability to survive & thrive no matter what.
“courage comes one breath,” or—dare i say?—one leap, “at a time.”—aubrey marcus
