the daily blissit’s sunday, december 15, & moon is in the starspace called pushya, which occupies a sky-slice of cancer. coming after airy masculine gemini, cancer’s watery feminine energy provides an internal counter to gemini’s external: kind of like pose & counterpose in yoga. in gemini we’re all up in our heads & connecting to the world through our intellect, whereas in cancer, we connect emotionally, through our heart. one way to know how you really feel about someone or something is how it feels in your body & where in your body the energy goes when you think about that thing or that person. always interesting to notice. always interesting to ask your body what you really think when you’re not sure!

pushya means “to nourish” or “thrive” & is ruled by brihaspati, which is another name for jupiter, who brings wisdom & love of the truth. jupiter is the priest who advised the gods about how to perform rituals to create a more sattvic life. he helps the devas (the gods) vanquish the asuras (the demons), which is to say that he helps us overcome our demonic (ie, negative, tamasic) thoughts so that we can come into alignment with our godly (ie, positive, sattvic) thoughts/energy. in this way he helps us thrive so that we can help others thrive. what’s more nourishing than wisdom. what sustains longer than the nectar of truth?

maybe that’s why there are so many stories of holy beings in various traditions who existed on nothing but air—the divine truth was all their body needed! for example, therese neumann, a german catholic mystic, professed to have consumed no food other than the holy eucharist nor to have drunk any water from 1926 until her death, in 1962.

it’s the fourth phase of the waning moon, so you may experience some obstacles on your path. if you remember that they are there for your benefit, you’ll be grateful for them & be able to overcome them with grace & ease. bring. them. on.

sunday is the sun’s day, a day to feel our soul(ar) power, the power of our unique expression of self, & maybe soak up some of the sun’s rays to recharge. fyi: sun moves into sagittarius overnight, which means tomorrow is sankranti, a day when sun isn’t quite settled into his new abode, so we may not be feeling so powerful. it’s a good day to cut yourself some slack, lower your expectations, or take the whole day off if you can. if it’s a powder day where you live, all the more reason to do so!

& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light of your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
