it’s friday, december 17, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called rohini. in the environment of taurus, we hew toward feeling comfortable, enjoying what is, which is all well & fine as long as we don’t sink into that overstuffed couch of comfort & lose the motivation to get up & move forward again, b/c our comfort zone is where our dreams die.

rohini is the moon’s favorite place, def moon’s comfort zone, & brings the lesson—well, i’ve pretty much said it, haven’t i?—that even comfort has its downside, that there is such a thing as being too comfortable. sorry!
the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon becomes the fifteenth around dusk. we may be feeling full to bursting emotionally, feeling the intensity of sun in sagittarius, in the starspace called mula, about to shine its light on moon in gemini, in the starspace called mrigashira, tomorrow night, giving us a full moon. sun in sag is asking us to examine what we believe or think we believe, & be willing to yank pernicious beliefs out by their roots; moon in gemini is gently inviting us to be curious, be open, to seek the soma, the rasa, the juiciness, the nectar. it can be hard to let go of what doesn’t serve, b/c it serves on one level—familiarity is comfortable; what we know seems safer than what we don’t know. but isn’t the possibility of experiencing bliss (that’s what soma brings) worth the risk of venturing into the unknown, being willing to taste something new?
friday is owned by venus, whose superpower is love. as jimi hendrix famously said, “when the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.” how can you infuse the world with more love & help right the power imbalance? how can we love so hard together that we are able to lift the heavy shroud of fear & oppression we’ve all been under recently? love vibrates at a much higher frequency than fear & the higher we vibrate the higher we soar—may we all soar together & lift one another up!
