the daily blissit’s wednesday, december 18, & moon is in the starspace called purva phalguni until late morning, then moves into uttara phalguni. purva p is in leo, uttara p straddles leo & virgo, creating a segue between leo & virgo energy. leo is about our personal power & virgo is about how we maintain & sustain that power. whatever you create, whatever you build, whatever you rule is built from the ground up & virgo is all about doing the grunt work, keeping our foundation from crumbling, keeping the machine of our lives running smoothly. it’s not as sexy as walking down a red carpet to, say, your coronation, but that carpet would be filthy without someone to clean it & you would thus not create such a glamorous spectacle if someone didn’t do so.

both of the phalgunis are ruled by adityas—purva p by bhaga, uttara p by aryaman. the adityas are aspects of the sun that have to do with the resources at our disposal in this life, our potential for achievement. the phalgunis also share a symbol, the marriage bed, with purva getting two legs of the bed & uttara the other two. purva means “previous,” uttara “later.” first comes love (& sex), then comes marriage (& children). pleasure serves its purpose, but it can’t sustain a marriage, a long-term union. there has to be a purpose beyond the carnal, beyond the emotional. for many that purpose is children; for others it may be spiritual. whatever it is, it is greater than, & must be greater than, the two people in the marriage. bhaga brings delight; aryaman is the god of contracts, especially but not necessarily marriage contracts. find your bliss this morning, sign contracts this afternoon—&, no, they don’t have to be related!

it’s the seventh phase of the waning moon until late morning, then the eighth phase. the former is ruled by indra, king of the gods, the latter by the eight vasus, the creative principles of life. so do feel your gender-neutral kingliness in the first part of the day & do allow your values to infuse your creativity later on.

wednesday is owned by mercury, who gives us our powers of speech & communication. mercury likes frankincense, so burn it, diffuse it, or dab it to call in his energy.
